Education

Track & strength athlete, accomplished football player & enthusiast, musician, Father & co-owner of Fit Republic

Gareth is co-director of Fit Republic & Maine Fitness and along with his partner Grace, they make the dynamic duo you will see turning the cogs at Fit Republic.

Gareth enjoys playing football and has played at an elite level from the age of 18, for the Calder Cannons in the TAC cup, Vic Metro and in the SANFL for Port Adelaide Football Club. Gareth was extremely passionate about pre season during his football career, where he accomplished a 9:29 3km run for Port Adelaide in the SANFL. Since then, he continues to love all aspects around learning/developing a professional pre season for sporting clubs. This is how Elite Pre-seasons was born. Pre, Intra and post-season testing/training was something he felt was lacking in semi professional and local sporting clubs. To find out more head to www.elitepreseasons.com.au.

Generally, you will find Gareth working tirelessly away behind the scenes or perhaps squatting 230kgs in the gym! In his spare time, he will be writing music or poems with his band Blue Howl, who reached 7th place on the Triple J Unearthed charts in 2018 for their song “Smile When You’re Sad.”

Gareth has worked in the fitness industry for many years now, however he’s also had over 10 years working in Youth Work, Disability, Community Development/Projects and with Ceres Environmental Group in Melbourne.
